Program starts Saturday, Dec. 5

The staff at NYSEF would like to help you get everything in order for your young alpine athlete(s).  Please contact us with any questions, www.nysef.org or (518) 251-2825 anytime.

NYSEF provides alpine ski programs at Gore and Whiteface Mountain.  There are alpine programs at many mountains in New York state. They all belong to New York State Ski Racing Association (NYSSRA) governing body.  NYSSRA.org or (315) 655-2216.

Dec. 5 & 6, 2009: Training will end at noon both days to allow for staff meetings.

Season pass information

Information from Kelly Nessle:

ATHLETE PASS
1.  Is part of the enrollment package
2.  Is only used for children entering the NYSEF program
3. Picture must be less than three years old; if you need an updated picture, send them a digital.  This will speed the process of getting your pass, unless you are going to be up within the next four weeks and can have the picture taken then.
4.  Under the list of athletes’ names, (multiple children may be listed on one application) (left side) there is a place for the parent to PRINT his/her name.  Directly under that there is a rectangle in which you are asked to put YOUR (parent) birthdate.  Move directly across to the right and there is a place for the parent signature. These are key entries.  Gore Ticket office will reject them if not completely filled out.
5.  If you purchase a NASTAR upgrade, you must include your credit card information at the bottom.  Otherwise, do not put your CC information on the application.
6.  If all goes well, you should be able to pick up your athlete’s pass on Thanksgiving weekend (possibly earlier–call me at the office to check.)

COACHES/RACE CREW/STAFF
1.  DO NOT use the athlete pass for you and your family. If your child is an athlete, use the athlete pass.
2.  Your pass application comes from Bone or me and it is usually a dark tan paper.

PARENTS
1. Any season pass you acquire is business done between you and Gore Mt. See the Gore season pass page.
2.  If, in your excitement to catch a lower rate from Gore, you applied early and included a child who is now going to be in the NYSEF-GORE program, you will have to request a refund.  This is done by filling our refund papers (which I have in my office), we have to sign it that your child is a NYSEF program athlete, and, if you have been issued a pass already, you must turn in the pass to me.  I will then hand it over to the ticket Nazi!
3.  If you are an employee of Gore, and requested a ticket for a child who is now going to be in the NYSEF-GORE program, you must do the same as in #2. The deal is, your child skis through NYSEF, not Gore  They must wear a NYSEF ticket at all times.

OOPS
1.  If, after reading all of the above, you recognize that you made a mistake, don’t despair.  Mistakes can be rectified.  Probably the fastest way is for you to download another Gore Athlete pass application, do it the proper way, and forward it directly to me (PO Box 200 North Creek, NY 12853) with a quick note that this is a new app and please throw away the first one you did.  I might even have the first one by the time I start working again and I’ll  just toss it and substitute the new one.

NEW classifieds site up and running

Yeah, it’s 90 degrees as I post this entry, but it is time to think about cleaning out the basement and selling your used ski equipment that doesn’t fit your racers anymore.

The all new Gore Ski Club classifieds site is live with various categories. You can post ads, reply to them, upload photos and more.

Give it a whirl.
